Actress Wumi Toriola kneels to apologise to Afeez Owo after clash over his “violence is her comfort zone” comment

Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has finally made peace with veteran filmmaker Afeez Owo after months of tension between them.

The reconciliation happened on Wednesday evening at Odunlade Adekola’s movie premiere, where Wumi was seen approaching Afeez, going on her knees and apologising for her previous outburst.

“I’m sorry, sir. Please forgive me,” she said in the now-viral clip.

Afeez, who initially tried to walk away, eventually lifted her up and pulled her into a hug.

Their clash began two months ago after Afeez said during an interview on the African A-List podcast that Wumi’s on-screen roles reflected her real-life personality, adding that “violence is her comfort zone.”

Wumi reacted sharply at the time, calling the interview “rubbish” in a video she later deleted. The backlash from social media users was intense, with many agreeing with Afeez’s comments. Shortly after the drama, the actress was reportedly hospitalised.
