#JusticeForOchanya: Late Ochanya Ogbanje’s Sister Speaks Out, Demands Arrest of Fugitive Suspect Victor Ogbuja – justiceforochanya late

The sister of late Ochanya Ogbanje has spoken out amid renewed calls for justice, demanding the arrest of fugitive suspect Victor Ogbuja and questioning why her sister’s alleged abusers remain free.

The family of late Ochanya Elizabeth Ogbanje, the 13-year-old girl whose tragic death exposed one of Nigeria’s most disturbing child abuse cases, has renewed its demand for justice.

In a recent interview with TVC News, Ochanya’s elder sister expressed frustration that her family’s seven-year quest for justice has been met with continuous obstacles.

According to Ms. Ogbanje, her late sister’s guardian, Mrs. Felicia Ochiga-Ogbuja, continues to live with her husband, Mr. Andrew Ogbuja, the lecturer accused of repeatedly assaulting Ochanya along with his son, Victor Ogbuja.

Despite facing public outrage and court trials, Andrew still lectures at Benue State Polytechnic, Makurdi, she said.

While Andrew was acquitted in 2022 due to “insufficient evidence,” Victor remains on the run, even though, according to Ms. Ogbanje, his whereabouts are known.

“We keep hearing that the police can’t find him, yet we’ve seen his pictures online several times,” she lamented.

“Our family is still suffering while those responsible walk freely.”
