Woman Reportedly Rejects Blood Transfusion on Religious Grounds Despite ₦30 Million Donations

A Nigerian woman battling cancer has reportedly declined a blood transfusion recommended by her doctors, citing her religious beliefs, despite receiving over ₦30 million in public donations for her treatment.

The update was shared by popular X influencer Sir Dickson, who led the fundraising campaign to support the patient, known on X as @auntieesther_pepper_girl.

Patient Declines Transfusion Due to Faith

According to Sir Dickson, the woman’s blood levels were being stabilized in preparation for the next stage of her medical care. However, she declined the option of a blood transfusion — a requirement before starting chemotherapy — because she is a Jehovah’s Witness, a faith known for its refusal of blood products.
