Pastor Chris Okafor’s Lawyers Warn Doris Ogala, VeryDarkMan Over Allegations, Demand Proof

The legal team representing Pastor Chris Okafor has issued a formal warning to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, social media influencer VeryDarkMan, and other bloggers, urging them to submit evidence of their allegations to the Nigerian Police or risk criminal prosecution.

Lawyers Describe Allegations as Malicious

Speaking to journalists in Lagos, Ife Ajayi, Lead Partner at Sovereignty LP, described the claims against his client as false, malicious, and part of what he termed a coordinated campaign of cyberbullying, blackmail, and public incitement.

Ajayi said the allegations, which resurfaced online in December 2025, originated from Doris Ogala and were subsequently amplified by bloggers and social media personalities without giving Pastor Okafor the opportunity to respond.

Origin of the Dispute

According to Ajayi, the controversy dates back to late 2024 and stemmed from a business engagement involving Ogala and a third party.

He explained that Pastor Okafor withdrew from the arrangement after concluding that the expected outcome could not be achieved. Following this, Ogala allegedly claimed the cleric owed her ₦45 million, a claim the legal team described as baseless.

“Each time one allegation failed to gain traction, another followed. It was a systematic attempt to see what would stick,” Ajayi said.

Reference to Previous Legal Case

Ajayi further disclosed that Ogala had previously been arrested and charged for cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and issuing threats over similar conduct. He noted that the case was resolved through an out-of-court settlement.

He stressed that during those earlier proceedings, no allegations of rape, sexual assault, or an intimate relationship were made.

“At no point during those proceedings did she allege rape, sexual assault, or an affair. Those claims only emerged after the settlement was allegedly breached,” he stated.

Police Complaints and Fresh Warnings

The lawyer said renewed online accusations prompted fresh petitions to the police, leading to Ogala’s arrest and interrogation.

He also accused VeryDarkMan and other online commentators of abusing their platforms by presenting unverified claims as established facts.

“You cannot be the accuser, investigator, prosecutor, and judge at the same time. Allegations of rape or murder must be reported to law enforcement,” Ajayi said.

Ajayi revealed that formal criminal complaints have now been filed against individuals spreading the allegations and warned that Doris Ogala, VeryDarkMan, and other bloggers must submit any evidence they claim to have to the police.

Ongoing Investigations

He concluded by stating that Pastor Okafor remains open to lawful investigation but will pursue legal remedies against what his team described as defamation and abuse of due process.

As of the time of this report, the police have not released an official statement on the status of the investigations.
