Tinubu Orders Security Chiefs to Hunt Down Perpetrators of Kasuwan Daji Attack

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed Nigeria’s top security leadership to track down and apprehend those responsible for the deadly attack on Kasuwan Daji market in Niger State, insisting that the perpetrators must be swiftly brought to justice.

The directive was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the President’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga.

Deadly Market Attack in Niger State

According to DAILY POST, terrorists carried out a coordinated attack on a village market in Kabe District, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, on Sunday.

The assault reportedly left nearly 40 people dead, while several others were abducted during the raid, throwing the community into mourning and fear.

Orders to Security Agencies

President Tinubu directed the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) to immediately intensify operations in the area.

He also ordered security agencies to rescue all abducted victims without delay.

“They Must Be Hunted Down” — Tinubu

Condemning the attack in strong terms, the President said the assailants had challenged the authority and resolve of the Nigerian state.

“These terrorists have tested the resolve of our country and its people. They must, therefore, face the full consequences of their criminal actions,” Tinubu said.

“No matter who they are or what their intent is, they must be hunted down. They, and all those who aid, abet, or enable them in any form, will be caught and brought to justice.”

Renewed Security Push

The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property and ensuring that communities affected by terrorism and banditry receive adequate security attention.

As of the time of filing this report, security agencies had yet to release official details on arrests or rescue operations, but intensified operations are expected to follow the presidential directive.
