I always set boundaries with female colleagues before filming intimate scenes – Actor Uzor Arukwe

Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has spoken about the importance of professionalism and setting clear boundaries with female colleagues, especially when filming intimate scenes.

Speaking in an interview with BBC News Igbo, the actor explained that he makes it a priority to discuss comfort levels with actresses before shooting such scenes to ensure there is mutual understanding.

According to him, these conversations help to prevent discomfort and maintain respect on set.

“I always discuss boundaries with any female colleague I’m asked to act with. I make sure we talk about what is acceptable before we start filming. I avoid touching areas that could make the actress or her partner uncomfortable. I am a married man,” he said.

Arukwe, who gained wider recognition for his role as Odogwu Paranran in Omoni Oboli’s Love in Every Word, also addressed rumours linking him romantically with some of his colleagues.

He dismissed the claims, stating that his relationships with actresses are strictly professional and that he remains committed to his marriage and career.

“The rumours about me and different women are not true. What people see in movies is just part of my work. The Odogwu character I played opened more doors for me. That role brought more attention to my career. Many people now recognise me because of that character,” he added.
