Tinubu Is The Biafra Igbos Have Been Looking For, Umahi Declares

David Umahi, Minister of Works, has declared that President Bola Tinubu represents the “Biafra” many Igbos have long desired.

Umahi made the statement during the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential primary election held in Umunaga Ward, Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

According to the minister, the turnout of 5,009 APC members during the exercise reflected strong support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.

Umahi described Ebonyi State as a strong APC stronghold and praised Tinubu’s administration for what he called major political inclusion and developmental efforts in the South-East region.

He argued that the current administration has integrated the South-East into mainstream national politics through key appointments and infrastructure development.

“Bola Tinubu is the Biafra we have been looking for. A man who has integrated the entire South-East, given us juicy appointments and very important infrastructure,” Umahi stated.

The minister also defended Tinubu’s economic policies, acknowledging that Nigerians initially faced hardship following the reforms but insisting the measures helped stabilise the economy.

“The macroeconomy is stable and the President is now taking it down to the microeconomy. The worst is over and Nigerians will soon begin to see the benefits,” he added.

Umahi’s comments have already generated reactions online, especially within political and regional discussions surrounding the South-East and the 2027 elections.
