President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to continue praying for terrorists and bandits to abandon criminal activities as security agencies intensify operations against insecurity across the country.
The President made the appeal on Thursday during a meeting with security chiefs and traditional rulers at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where discussions focused on the growing threats of terrorism, banditry and kidnapping in several parts of Nigeria.
According to Tinubu, his administration remains fully committed to restoring peace and strengthening national security through military operations, intelligence gathering and improved coordination among security agencies.
He noted, however, that overcoming insecurity requires not only government action but also collective support from citizens, including spiritual intervention.
“Nigeria should pray that terrorists and bandits will have a rethink and abandon their evil ways. We are determined to secure this country, protect lives and ensure that every Nigerian can live without fear,” the President said.
Tinubu also urged Nigerians to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could help prevent attacks and track criminal networks.
He warned that criminals often thrive when communities fail to report suspicious activities or share useful intelligence with authorities.
The President further assured citizens that the Federal Government would continue investing in modern security equipment, surveillance technology and operational strategies aimed at ending insurgency, kidnapping and banditry across the country.
His remarks come amid renewed concerns over insecurity following recent incidents of kidnappings, attacks on schools and communities, and rising fears among residents in several states.
The Federal Government has repeatedly stated that strengthening intelligence gathering, enhancing inter-agency collaboration and improving community participation remain key components of its security strategy.
