Fresh details have emerged on the conditions reportedly presented by the terrorists responsible for the abduction of teachers and pupils from three schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The victims were kidnapped on May 15, 2026, after armed men invaded schools in the Esinele, Yawota and Alawusa communities, sparking nationwide outrage and renewed concerns over insecurity in the South West.
Days after the attack, the kidnappers released a disturbing video showing the execution of a mathematics teacher, Michael Oladokun, who taught at Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele.
As efforts continue to secure the freedom of the remaining victims, reports indicate that the abductors have outlined a series of demands they want met before releasing the teachers and pupils still in captivity.

According to reports, the kidnappers are demanding:
1. Release Of Two Detained Terrorist Commanders
The abductors reportedly want the Federal Government to release two terror suspects currently facing prosecution over terrorism-related offences.
The individuals identified are Mahmud Usman, also known as Abu Bara’a or Abbas Mukhtar, and his deputy, Abubakar Abba, alias Isah Adam, Mahmud Al-Nigeri, also known as Mallam Mamuda.
The duo are alleged leaders of Jama’atu Ansarul Muslimeena Fii Bilaadis Sudan, a faction linked to extremist activities in Nigeria.
2. Payment Of ₦1 Billion Ransom
The terrorists are also reportedly demanding a ransom of ₦1 billion for the release of the victims.
Reports claim the money is expected to be paid into an account located in the Republic of Benin, although this aspect of the demand has not been independently verified by authorities.
3. Provision Of Two Hilux Vehicles
Another condition allegedly presented by the kidnappers is the provision of two Hilux vehicles.
Security experts have warned that such equipment could potentially be used to strengthen the operational capabilities of armed groups.
4. Sharia-Related Legal Concessions
The abductors are also said to be demanding concessions relating to future implementation of Sharia-related laws.
This demand has generated concern among security analysts, who argue that granting such requests could set a dangerous precedent and undermine national security.
