Lagos Police Arrest 21-Year-Old Passenger With Human Hand, Guns, and POS Machine Along Lekki-Epe Expressway

 

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have apprehended a 21-year-old man, Samson Onilewaji, after intercepting him with a human hand, firearms, and suspected stolen properties during a routine operation.

The suspect met his Waterloo along the busy Lekki-Epe Expressway when police officers flagged down an unregistered commercial shuttle bus conveying six passengers.

Confirming the incident in a statement on Friday, June 26, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed that a thorough search of the commercial vehicle and its occupants exposed the suspect.

“During a search of the vehicle and its occupants, the suspect, identified as Samson Onilewaji, ‘M’, aged 21 years, was found in possession of a suspected human right hand, two locally made pistols, one live cartridge, two axes, one POS terminal machine, and five ATM cards,” the police statement revealed.

According to Ms. Adebisi, Onilewaji confessed during interrogation that he recently attacked and robbed three different individuals. He admitted to dispossessing the victims of their personal valuables, including the recovered point-of-sale (POS) machine and bank cards.

The police command stated that detectives are currently working to trace and contact the robbery victims in order to return their stolen belongings.
