Senate President Godswill Akpabio has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, saying the government’s reforms are already making a noticeable impact across the country.
Akpabio made the remarks while addressing President Tinubu at a public event, where he praised the administration for what he described as the steady implementation of its campaign promises.
According to the Senate President, the President had assured Nigerians before taking office that the country would undergo significant transformation under his leadership, adding that those changes are beginning to take shape.
“We’re proud of your reforms, Mr President. You promised that under your tenure, when you are through with Nigeria, Nigeria will not be the same again. We are seeing it,” Akpabio said.
His comments come as the Tinubu administration continues to defend its economic and governance reforms amid mixed reactions from Nigerians.
Supporters of the government argue that key policies introduced over the past three years are laying the foundation for long-term economic growth, infrastructure development and improved governance.
Critics, however, have continued to express concerns over the rising cost of living, inflation and the economic hardship experienced by many Nigerians since the reforms began.
Akpabio’s latest endorsement has further fueled political discussions over the performance of the current administration, with both supporters and opposition figures offering differing assessments of the government’s record.
His remarks also underscore the continued alignment between the executive and the leadership of the National Assembly as the Federal Government pushes ahead with its reform agenda.
