A Canada-based Nigerian woman has gone viral after requiring her husband to publicly declare that he would remain faithful to her before joining her abroad.
The woman, identified on Facebook as Ezinne Maryjane Nwanorue, shared several posts explaining why she insisted her husband make the declaration and publish it on both Facebook and WhatsApp before relocating to Canada.
According to Ezinne, her husband was required to record a video promising to remain faithful throughout their marriage. She also asked him to publicly state that he accepted the consequences of breaking that promise.
In one of her posts, she wrote that the declaration was a condition she believed was necessary before he could relocate to Canada.
The posts have since generated widespread reactions online, with many social media users expressing mixed opinions about her decision.
A video circulating online shows her husband, Franklin Chimaobim Nwanorue, addressing his wife directly and pledging his commitment to their marriage.
In the video, he said he wanted peace in their home and promised to remain faithful if he eventually relocated to Canada.
He also apologised for any past hurt, urged his wife to forgive him, and assured her of his commitment to their family.
“I want to be the best husband for you. I want the best for you and our children. I will keep my promise to you,” he said.
The video has continued to attract significant attention across social media, with users debating the couple’s approach to trust, long-distance marriage and commitment.
