Portable Rejects Peller’s Wedding Invitation, Says ‘Use Money To Invite Me’

Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has reacted after TikTok star Peller personally invited him to his upcoming wedding, saying the invitation was not made in the proper way and insisting that his appearance at events is not free.

The exchange, which has since gone viral on social media, reportedly took place through a private direct message (DM), where Peller appealed to the singer to attend the ceremony.

According to Peller, Portable was one of the special guests he wanted to celebrate with.

“Omolalomi, we’re specially inviting you to our wedding. We need someone like you at our wedding because you’re a star,” Peller said.

Responding, Portable questioned why the invitation was sent through a phone message instead of being delivered in person.

The singer also claimed he was among the people who supported Peller before he became popular and argued that, as his senior colleague, he deserved a more respectful approach.

Portable further stated that he already had a paid performance scheduled for the same day as the wedding and maintained that attending the event without payment was not an option.

“You’re a spoilt child. Is it not you, Habeeb, that I built? I was among the people that posted you so people could know you. Normally, you and your wife are supposed to come to my house and specially greet me. I’m your elder brother.

“Secondly, if you want me there, I’m a superstar, a musician. Use money to call me. August 1, I already have a show that I’ve been paid for, so should I now come to your wedding for free?” Portable said.

He also joked about the scale of the wedding, comparing it to a political rally and suggesting that people from different walks of life would attend.

The exchange has generated mixed reactions online, with some social media users backing Portable’s position on traditional wedding invitations, while others argued that Peller’s gesture was sufficient.
