Spain Beat Argentina to Win 2026 World Cup in Dramatic Final

Spain have been crowned champions of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after defeating defending champions Argentina 1-0 in Sunday’s final.

The victory secured La Roja’s second World Cup title, 16 years after their historic triumph in South Africa in 2010.

Luis de la Fuente’s side dominated large periods of the final and controlled possession, but failed to find a breakthrough during regulation time as Argentina held firm.

The match remained goalless through the first half of extra time, although Argentina suffered a major setback when midfielder Enzo Fernandez was sent off after receiving a second yellow card.

Spain eventually made their numerical advantage count in the second half of extra time.

Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal after connecting with a knockdown from Nico Williams, sending Spanish players and supporters into celebration.

Argentina, who arrived at the final as defending champions, struggled to impose themselves throughout the contest and were unable to find an equaliser after falling behind.

The result ends Argentina’s reign as world champions and confirms Spain as the new kings of world football after an impressive campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
