President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is meeting with Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Adeleke arrived at the Presidential Villa at about 5:25pm on Thursday, marking his first meeting with Tinubu since securing re-election in the Osun State governorship election held on August 15.
The governor arrived in a navy blue traditional outfit, carrying a walking stick, and alighted from a black Toyota Land Cruiser SUV.
He was accompanied by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
The meeting comes days after Tinubu personally called Adeleke to congratulate him on his victory.
The President had described the election outcome as a “fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our country” and urged Adeleke to unite residents of Osun State regardless of their political affiliations.
Several Osun political figures also arrived at the Presidential Villa shortly after the governor.
They included Senator Lere Oyewumi, Director-General of the Adeleke Campaign Council; Sunday Bisi, a member of the campaign council; Akinleye Kazeem, Chief of Staff to the Osun governor; and Bamidele Salam, member of the House of Representatives representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal Constituency.
