Country music legend Dolly Parton has died at the age of 80.
Her nephew and security chief, Bryan Seever, confirmed her death in a video shared on Parton’s official social media accounts on Tuesday.
Parton was one of the most influential figures in American country music, building a career that spanned decades and extending her influence into popular culture.
She was widely known for global hits including “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You,” songs that became defining works of her career and achieved lasting international recognition.
According to Seever, Parton had expressed a wish for the phrase “I Will Always Love You” to be used as her final farewell.
