The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Oyewole Mayowa Solomon, has died after collapsing during a party reconciliation meeting.
The incident occurred on Friday while Solomon was attending a meeting convened by one of his predecessors, Funsho Olumoko, as part of efforts to promote unity among APC stakeholders in the local government.
According to reports, Solomon suddenly collapsed while the meeting was ongoing, causing panic among those present.
He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Kabba for medical attention. However, he reportedly died shortly after arriving at the facility.
The circumstances surrounding his sudden death had not been officially disclosed as of the time of filing this report.
The incident has left APC members and other stakeholders in Ijumu shocked, coming during a meeting focused on reconciliation and strengthening unity within the party.
