Lecturer Under Fire Over Claim That Denying Husbands Intimacy Could Lead to Student Affairs

Nigerian lecturer Uche Ike has sparked controversy on social media after making claims about marriage, intimacy and the risk of married lecturers becoming attracted to female students.

Ike shared the comments in a Facebook post on Tuesday, August 19, 2026, while introducing his wife, whom he said he has been married to for eight years.

The lecturer said he and his wife have four children and praised her appearance, character and their relationship.

He said his satisfaction with his marriage meant he had no reason to pursue female students.

“As a lecturer, I do not think there will be any need to run around little girls in school when I have this my sumptuous baby,” he wrote.

However, Ike went further to argue that being married to an attractive woman does not necessarily prevent a man from being unfaithful.

He claimed that some wives allegedly do not meet their husbands’ expectations regarding intimacy, using the term “submission” in making his argument.

The lecturer also cited an unnamed friend who he claimed had complained about his wife setting restrictions around intimacy in their marriage.

Ike subsequently addressed women married to lecturers, warning them that their husbands interact with young women regularly because of the nature of their profession.

“As a lady married to a lecturer, you should know that your husband meets young fine ladies everyday at school and that should keep you on your toes,” he wrote.

He further argued that some men may struggle to resist sexual temptation when they regularly interact with attractive female students.

“It is wrong to leave a young handsome lecturer starving and expect him not to look at female students. Let’s not deceive ourselves here. Not all men are strong to withstand sexual tension. Some fall easily,” he stated.

Ike concluded by linking intimacy within marriage to the likelihood of a lecturer pursuing relationships with female students.

His comments have generated reactions online, with social media users debating his views on marriage, intimacy, infidelity and the professional boundaries between lecturers and students.
