A video circulating widely on social media has sparked debate after showing a Nigerian pastor instructing members of his congregation to transfer all the money in their bank accounts to him, while assuring them they would receive a miracle within seven days.
In the viral clip, the pastor is seen preaching before inviting three congregants to the altar.
He then hands each of them a piece of paper, which he says contains his bank account details, before asking them to transfer all the money they have to the account.
Addressing the worshippers, he says:
“This is my account number. Transfer all the money you have, all the money in your account and at home to that account, and within seven days, something miraculous will happen in your life.”
The video has since attracted widespread attention across social media, with many users expressing differing opinions about the pastor’s instruction.
Some questioned the authenticity of the video and suggested it could have been staged, while others criticised the message as inappropriate and potentially exploitative. Others defended the practice, arguing that giving to religious causes is a matter of personal faith and conviction.
