Nigerian music executive Soso Soberekon has offered ₦500 million for singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, to face his twin brother, Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, in a celebrity boxing match.
The unusual offer was made during Peter’s performance on Sunday night amid renewed public attention surrounding the longstanding dispute involving the former members of P-Square.
In a video circulating on social media, Soso could be seen among the audience holding up his phone towards the stage.
A message displayed on the screen read:
“500 Million Naira to fight your twin in a boxing match.”
The proposal immediately attracted attention online, coming at a time when the relationship between Peter and Paul has once again become the subject of widespread public discussion.
The twin brothers, who rose to fame as members of the hugely successful music duo P-Square, have experienced several periods of disagreement, separation and reconciliation over the years.
Their latest dispute has also involved their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, with financial disagreements surrounding the P-Square business becoming a major point of contention.
Peter has publicly made allegations concerning the handling of royalties and other financial matters connected to the group’s music catalogue.
Some of the financial disputes have also become subjects of legal proceedings, while Jude has denied wrongdoing and contested allegations made against him.
The renewed family feud has attracted reactions from several Nigerian entertainers and public figures, with different personalities offering opinions on the disagreement.
Soso’s ₦500 million boxing proposal now introduces another twist to the controversy, suggesting that Peter and Paul could settle their differences inside the boxing ring as part of a celebrity fight.
However, there was no indication from the information available that either Peter or Paul had accepted the proposed match.
It also remains unclear whether Soso’s offer represents a formal boxing proposal or was simply a public challenge made during Peter’s performance.
