Three Dead, Several Injured After Gunman Opens Fire Near Idaho In-N-Out Burger

Three people, including the suspected gunman, have died following a shooting near an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday afternoon.

The incident occurred at about 2 p.m. local time before spreading from the restaurant to the parking lot and surrounding area, prompting a major emergency response.

Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks confirmed that the suspected attacker, who was reportedly armed with an AR-style rifle, was among those killed.

Authorities said the gunman’s identity and motive have not yet been established.

According to initial reports, at least three people lost their lives, while no fewer than five others sustained injuries. Officials cautioned that the number of casualties could rise as investigations continue.

A video circulating on social media appeared to show a man wearing a black T-shirt and blue trousers standing between two parked Tesla vehicles before allegedly firing multiple shots at one of the cars.

The footage shows the suspect lowering the weapon before running across the parking lot as bystanders scrambled for safety.

In the recording, a frightened witness can be heard shouting:

“Get down… I don’t have service.”

Speaking during a press briefing, Police Chief Hicks said officers believe there is no longer any danger to the public.

“We believe the threat to the community is over,” Hicks said.

He added that investigators were still working to determine the exact number of victims and notify their families.

“It was a very chaotic scene.”

Twin Falls city spokesperson Josh Palmer also told NBC News that officials expected the number of injured victims to increase as more information becomes available.

Reacting to the tragedy, In-N-Out Burger owner and president Lynsi Snyder confirmed that one of the company’s employees was among those killed.

In an emotional post shared on Instagram, Snyder wrote:

“My heart is broken, my chest is heavy, my eyes burn from the tears I’ve shed.”

She added:

“We lost one of our beautiful associates tonight. She was taking care of our most important asset, our customers, and her life was taken by a disgusting human who doesn’t value the lives of others or his own.”

Authorities have launched an investigation into the shooting as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack.
