Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Gerard has been evicted from the reality TV show after spending six weeks in the ‘Show Ya Sef’ house.
Host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu announced Gerard’s eviction during the sixth live eviction show on Sunday, September 6, 2026, making him the eighth housemate to leave the competition this season.
Gerard was among 15 housemates nominated for possible eviction in Week Six, with viewers ultimately deciding his fate.
His exit follows the departures of Martins, Mercedes, Kamsy, Cassi, Sultex and Goddessa, while Neche voluntarily left the competition earlier in the season.
Gerard had remained a visible contestant during his time in the house and came close to winning the Head of House title on several occasions.
He reached the final round of the Week Six Head of House challenge but was defeated by Abi.
During his post-eviction conversation with Ebuka, Gerard said he had anticipated his eviction after his name was called during the house crossing. He also spoke about the increasing political dynamics among the housemates, explaining that he did not believe another housemate’s personal battle automatically became his own.
His departure leaves 16 housemates competing for the grand prize as the reality show moves into its seventh week.
The 2026 edition of Big Brother Naija premiered on July 26, with 24 housemates entering the competition for a ₦160 million grand prize, comprising ₦100 million in cash and other prizes.
Gerard’s eviction now leaves the remaining contestants with fewer weeks to establish themselves with viewers and secure their places in the later stages of the competition.
The race for the ₦160 million prize continues as the ‘Show Ya Sef’ season enters its seventh week.
