Controversial Nigerian social media activist VeryDarkMan has shared a video of himself praying in China, days after criticising Apostle Arome Osayi over his comments about Nigeria’s national purpose and development.
In the video, VDM appeared to make a light-hearted reference to his recent argument over the role of prayer and technological development in Nigeria.
He said he had taken his prayers to China and expressed optimism that positive developments would follow for Nigeria.
“I have successfully exported prayers to China. Good news is coming our way. Trade by barter. Nigeria, the change is coming.”
The video comes shortly after VDM criticised Apostle Arome over comments in which the cleric described Nigeria’s calling as one of revival.
Arome had argued that Nigerians should not necessarily compare the country’s emphasis on prayer with China’s technological and manufacturing achievements because, in his view, nations have different purposes.
VDM subsequently challenged the message, arguing that Nigerian youths should also be encouraged to pursue innovation, creativity, education and technological development.
The activist’s latest video from China appears to combine the two issues, using the idea of “exporting prayers” as a humorous reference to his earlier criticism.
By describing the exchange as “trade by barter,” VDM appeared to be joking about taking prayer to a country he had previously cited in discussions about technological advancement.
However, he did not provide details about the “good news” he referred to or explain what specific development he expected to come from his visit to China.
The video has since attracted attention online, particularly because of its connection to VDM’s recent exchange with Arome over faith, national purpose and Nigeria’s development.
