Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke displayed his trademark dance moves alongside President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday during the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja.
Adeleke attended the ceremony at the State Banquet Hall, where the ruling party formally inaugurated its campaign council ahead of the 2027 general election.
The governor’s appearance drew attention because he belongs to the Accord Party, rather than the APC, yet was named as the coordinator of the party’s presidential campaign in Osun State.
Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike were also named coordinators for the APC campaign in Anambra State, Rivers State and the FCT, respectively.
The three political figures belong to different parties. Soludo is a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), while Wike belongs to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Their appointments place them in campaign coordination roles for Tinubu’s re-election bid despite their different party affiliations.
Speaking at the inauguration, APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda praised the party’s organisational structure and nationwide reach, claiming that it had a large network of executives at different levels.
“No political party in Nigeria has our structure. We have over 261,000 party executives, from the national to the ward levels,” Yilwatda said.
The inauguration marked a major step in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 presidential election, with the campaign council expected to coordinate mobilisation and communicate the party’s message across the country.
