The Amadabo of Moko-Ama in Bayelsa State’s Akassa Kingdom, His Royal Highness Moses Theophilus Kenibara VII, has reportedly died at the age of 64 following complications linked to a liposuction procedure.
Kenibara VII was the traditional ruler of Moko-Ama in Sangana, Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. News of his reported death began circulating on social media around October 8 and 9, 2026, prompting tributes from people who remembered his contributions to traditional leadership and community development.
According to reports by TheNewsGuru, the monarch was widely associated with efforts to promote peace and unity within the Akassa Kingdom.
He ascended the throne in 2016 and reportedly described his appointment as a divine calling, marking the beginning of his leadership of the Moko-Ama community.
Beyond his responsibilities as a traditional ruler, Kenibara VII served as chairman of the Akassa Clan Council of Chiefs, succeeding Chief Newton Igbani-Okuru. He also served as chairman of the Central Zone of the Ijaw National Congress (INC).
During his tenure, the monarch spoke on security concerns affecting his community. In August 2026, he commended the Nigerian Navy for operations aimed at tackling criminal activities in the Akassa area, expressing relief over what he described as improvements in security for residents.
Kenibara VII also advocated stronger cooperation among traditional rulers in the Akassa Kingdom and called for the adoption of a constitution to guide the activities of the clan council.
His reported death represents a loss for the Moko-Ama community, where he served as a traditional authority and participated in discussions on peace, security and development.
However, the reported link between his death and liposuction complications has not been independently confirmed in the information available. Further confirmation from his family, the traditional institution or relevant authorities would help establish the circumstances surrounding his death.
