President Bola Tinubu on Sunday visited the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, at the monarch’s Iga Idunganran Palace on Lagos Island.
The visit provided an opportunity for the President to receive prayers and counsel from the traditional ruler for his administration and the country.
Tinubu was welcomed to the palace by members of the royal household, residents and supporters who gathered along the streets to catch a glimpse of the President.
Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), political associates and other well-wishers lined parts of Marina and Isale Eko as Tinubu’s convoy made its way to the palace.
The President’s arrival attracted cheers from residents and created a festive atmosphere across parts of Lagos Island.
During the meeting, Oba Akiolu prayed for Tinubu, his administration and Nigeria, asking for divine guidance, peace and prosperity for the country.
The monarch also offered the President counsel on issues affecting Nigeria and the welfare of its citizens.
The engagement underscored the continued interaction between the traditional institution and the Federal Government on matters relating to national development and the well-being of Nigerians.
Tinubu was accompanied by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
Other APC stalwarts, political associates and dignitaries also joined the President during the visit.
