The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, has announced a power outage affecting the Presidential Villa, the Supreme Court, Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and several other parts of Abuja.
The electricity distribution company disclosed this in a public notice issued on Saturday.
According to AEDC, the outage was caused by a technical fault currently affecting power supply to multiple strategic locations across the Federal Capital Territory.
Areas listed among those affected include:
• State House
• Supreme Court
• Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport
• Lugbe
• Asokoro
• Central Area
• Garki Areas 2, 3, 7 and 8
Other affected locations include Bolingo Hotel, National Hospital, National Planning Commission, European Union offices, several embassies including Pakistan, India, Sudan, Turkey and Egypt, as well as government lodges and residential districts.
The outage also impacted parts of Maitama, Aviation Village, Airport Road, River Park Estate, Airforce Base, Customs quarters, Dunamis Church, Shoprite, correctional services offices, and several surrounding communities.
AEDC apologised to residents and businesses affected by the disruption.
The company further stated that technical teams from the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, are currently working to restore electricity supply to the affected areas.
“We regret the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding,” the company stated.
