Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has insisted that the Turkish champions have no intention of selling Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen this summer, despite growing interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Osimhen has been heavily linked with a move away following another impressive campaign, but Özbek made it clear that the club wants the Nigerian international to remain in Istanbul.
Speaking in an interview with Sabah, the Galatasaray president acknowledged that top clubs monitoring Osimhen was expected given the striker’s performances, but stressed that the club’s priority remains protecting its own interests.
“It is very natural for every successful player at Galatasaray to be on the radar of major European clubs,” Özbek said.
“This shows that our club is doing the right things. However, our priority is Galatasaray’s interests. Osimhen is a world-class player, and he is happy here. We have no intention to sell Osimhen.”
The statement is likely to delight Galatasaray supporters, who have watched the Nigerian forward establish himself as one of the team’s most influential players.
Osimhen enjoyed one of the finest seasons of his career during the 2025/26 campaign, playing a key role in the club’s domestic success and European run.
The 27-year-old scored 22 goals and registered eight assists in 33 appearances across all competitions, contributing directly to 30 goals for the Turkish giants.
His outstanding performances helped Galatasaray secure a fourth consecutive Süper Lig title while also guiding the club to the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.
The striker’s form has inevitably attracted interest from several elite European sides seeking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.
However, Özbek’s comments suggest Galatasaray are determined to resist offers and build their future around the Super Eagles star.
For Osimhen, the latest remarks could further strengthen his bond with the club’s supporters, who have embraced him since his arrival and regard him as one of the key figures behind Galatasaray’s recent success.
