Court Issues Arrest Warrant For PFIPC’s Adeyemi Over Alleged Forgery, Fraud

The Federal High Court in Abuja has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-proclaimed Director-General of the disputed Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), after he failed to appear for his scheduled arraignment.

Justice Mohammed Umar granted the order on Tuesday following an oral application by the prosecution counsel, Mr. Wisdom Madaki, who informed the court that the defendant had repeatedly failed to honour court proceedings.

Adeyemi was expected to take his plea on an eight-count charge bordering on alleged forgery, fraud and impersonation in a case marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025.

Although the matter appeared as No. 12 on the court’s cause list, the defendant was absent when the case was called.

His lawyer, Mr. Genesis Francis, announced his appearance before the court but was unable to produce his client for arraignment.

The prosecution argued that Adeyemi had consistently failed to appear before the court despite previous opportunities, prompting the request for a bench warrant to compel his attendance.

After considering the application, Justice Umar granted the request and ordered his arrest.

The latest development comes days after Adeyemi also failed to appear before the court for arraignment over allegations relating to certificate forgery.

The self-styled PFIPC Director-General has remained at the centre of a high-profile controversy involving allegations of fraudulent appointments, impersonation and certificate forgery, with investigations by law enforcement agencies still ongoing.
