Future Brighter for Nigerians if Tinubu is Supported Beyond 2027 — Senate President Akpabio

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, stating that supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu beyond 2027 would lead to even brighter prospects for the country.

Akpabio made the remark while inaugurating the National Executive members of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in Abuja on Thursday. He credited Tinubu’s leadership with transforming Nigeria from a mono-economy heavily dependent on oil to a more diversified one.

The Senate President highlighted improved revenue allocation to states, noting that governors no longer need to borrow money due to enhanced federal distributions. “Now they shared over 2 trillion a month to States of the federation and the governors here can confirm, especially Kefas and Dauda,” he said.

He added: “All of them can confirm that they don’t borrow money because we have built a non-oil economy. We are no longer a mono-economy dependent on oil, thanks to the thinking of Mr. President.”

Akpabio urged continued support for the president. “So you can imagine supporting him beyond 2027, I can see the future brighter, I can see everything turning around for our good and Nigeria,” he stated.

The comments come as discussions around the 2027 general elections gain momentum, with various groups beginning to mobilise support for the ruling party and its leadership.
