Phyna Takes Legal Action Against Carter Efe, Davrel Over Alleged Defamatory Claims

Former Big Brother Naija winner Phyna has initiated legal action against content creator Carter Efe, demanding ₦500 million in damages over allegations that the pair had an intimate relationship.

The dispute began after streamer Davrel alleged that Carter Efe had made disparaging remarks about the reality TV star. Phyna responded by calling out Davrel over an alleged unpaid debt.

The exchange later escalated when Davrel accused Phyna of making advances toward him and claimed she had asked to be introduced to his father.

During a separate confrontation that circulated on social media, Carter Efe also claimed he had been intimate with Phyna.

Reacting to the allegation, Phyna asked:

“Me and you fuck?”

Carter Efe replied:

“Yes. I will bring the whole evidence come outside.”

Phyna responded:

“Thank you very much. You and Davrel will hear from my lawyer.”

Speaking during an Instagram Live session on Thursday night, Phyna confirmed that legal processes had been served on both Carter Efe and Davrel, saying she decided to pursue legal action after what she described as repeated acts of disrespect.

She also apologised to her fans, admitting that her previous reactions to online controversies often overshadowed the issues that led to them.

According to her, allegations relating to her personal relationships and sexual life crossed a line she was no longer willing to tolerate.

“I know a lot of people say I’ve lost my self-respect. I have put myself down so much, and I think I finally realised that. Yes, you are saying the truth.”

Phyna said her recent experiences had forced her to change how she responds to public controversies.

“There are two types of drags that I can’t stand. One is what everybody knows, and the other one is a sexual and man issue. I do not move that way.”

She added that although she had previously handled disputes publicly, she now intends to rely on legal channels.

“This is the end of that Phyna because, at last, I’m finally learning how to use legal means.”

Addressing both Carter Efe and Davrel directly, she concluded:

“Carter Efe and Davrel, check your emails and WhatsApp. You’ve been served.”
