The public dispute between Nigerian streamer Carter Efe and social media activist VeryDarkMan, whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse, has escalated after the entertainer issued fresh challenges over reports of petitions filed against him.
The latest development followed a series of heated exchanges in which Carter Efe criticised VeryDarkMan for his comments about singers Davido and Zlatan Ibile, whom the streamer has repeatedly described as people who have supported him.
The disagreement intensified around October 24 and 25 when Carter Efe reportedly used a livestream to accuse VeryDarkMan of being ungrateful to Davido. He claimed the singer had previously offered the activist assistance, including accommodation and food.

Carter Efe also referred to VeryDarkMan’s bakery project while questioning his criticism of people he believed had helped him.
The streamer subsequently directed curses at the activist, saying he would continue confronting him over his comments about Davido and Zlatan.
Carter Efe drags VDM’s mother into dispute
The controversy took another turn around October 31 and November 1 when Carter Efe extended his remarks to VeryDarkMan’s mother.
During a livestream, he reportedly wished death upon the activist’s mother and made other offensive statements while accusing VeryDarkMan of continuing to attack his benefactors.
The comments attracted criticism from social media users, particularly those who felt the disagreement between the two personalities should not involve family members.
The controversy also prompted reports that a content creator identified as Izu Tec had filed a petition against Carter Efe over the remarks. However, the filing and its details should be distinguished from any confirmed police action or court proceedings.
Carter Efe challenges VDM over petitions
On Wednesday, November 4, Carter Efe responded to the reports in another video, daring VeryDarkMan to prepare petitions against him in all 36 states within two hours.

He also repeated his threats and curses against the activist’s mother, warning that she would suffer if VeryDarkMan failed to bring him down.
In the video, Carter Efe said:
“I give you two hours, write every petition for the full 36 states. If I no use your petition paper do suya, call me bastard.”
He also made further disturbing remarks directed at the activist’s mother, escalating the controversy beyond their disagreement over Davido and Zlatan.
GehGeh advises Carter Efe to stay out of the dispute
Meanwhile, financial commentator and social media personality GehGeh has criticised Carter Efe for involving himself in the disagreement between VeryDarkMan, Davido and Zlatan.
Reacting to the controversy, GehGeh described the decision to fight another person’s battles as a serious mistake, particularly when the people being defended have greater influence and resources.
He advised Carter Efe to show his appreciation for Zlatan by supporting the rapper’s fashion business and promoting his brand rather than confronting people who criticise him.
GehGeh also argued that Davido and Zlatan were capable of handling their disagreements without requiring Carter Efe to intervene.
His comments added another dimension to the controversy, with the financial commentator urging the streamer to avoid putting himself in unnecessary trouble.
Where the dispute stands
As of Wednesday, November 4, the disagreement remains unresolved, with Carter Efe continuing to make public statements against VeryDarkMan.
Although reports of petitions have emerged, there is no confirmed court judgment or publicly established legal outcome against the streamer over the controversy.
The latest developments have also kept the debate alive over the involvement of family members in online disagreements, particularly after Carter Efe’s comments about VeryDarkMan’s mother.
