President Bola Tinubu has strongly condemned the deadly attack on Naridon Village in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, directing security agencies to arrest those responsible, rescue abducted victims and restore peace to the affected community.
The attack, which occurred in the early hours of Monday in Kamaru Ward, reportedly claimed the lives of about 30 people, including women and children, while several houses were set ablaze.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the incident as a “barbaric and cowardly act of terror” against innocent residents.
Tinubu said he had instructed the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify operations in the area to ensure those behind the attack are brought to justice.
“I have directed the Armed Forces, police, and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify operations across the affected areas to track down the perpetrators swiftly, secure the release of abducted individuals, and restore normalcy to the region,” the President said.
He warned that those responsible for the attack would not escape justice, stressing that attempts to destabilise Kaduna State would not succeed.
The President also extended his condolences to the families of those killed, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, the state government and residents affected by the tragedy.
Tinubu reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting Kaduna State in addressing its security challenges and combating criminal activities.
“Our administration has an unwavering commitment to strengthening security infrastructure, equipping response personnel, and neutralising criminal networks attempting to disrupt the peace of the nation,” he added.
The President further appealed to residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing credible and timely intelligence that could help prevent future attacks and improve emergency response.
“I urge our local communities to cooperate with security forces by providing actionable intelligence that would help early response efforts,” he said.
The latest attack has renewed concerns over insecurity in parts of Kaduna State, with authorities expected to intensify security operations as investigations and rescue efforts continue.
