Nigeria’s Falconets have made two changes to their squad for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after captain Joe Igbokwe and defender Faridat Abdulwahab were unable to obtain visas to enter Poland.

The two players have been withdrawn from the squad and replaced by Vivian Kachi and Alaba Olabiyi as Nigeria prepares for the global youth tournament.

The Falconets are in Group F alongside Spain, China PR and New Caledonia.

Moses Aduku’s team will open their campaign against Spain on Monday, September 7, in what will be their first match of the tournament.

The Nigerian squad arrived in Trzebnica, Poland, on Tuesday, August 25, and has continued preparations ahead of the competition.

As part of their final preparations, the Falconets are scheduled to play hosts Poland in a friendly at the Municipal Stadium in Brzeg on Friday.

Nigeria will then face Korea Republic in their final warm-up match next Tuesday at the Remes Resort & Spa Football Stadium.

The two friendly matches are expected to provide Aduku’s side with an opportunity to fine-tune their tactics and assess their squad before the Falconets begin their World Cup campaign against Spain.
