Nollywood actress Ronke Oshodi-Oke has appealed to Nigerians not to criticise or insult her if she endorses or campaigns for politicians ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The actress made the appeal during a recent interview while speaking about the possibility of publicly supporting political candidates.
Ronke Oshodi-Oke explained that any political endorsement she makes should be viewed within the context of her efforts to earn a living.
She said she could support politicians as part of her means of survival and urged her fans and followers not to attack her over such decisions.
“If you see me endorsing any politician, just know that I’m hustling and doing it for survival. Just look at it as if I’m just looking for a means of survival. Please, don’t drag or insult me,” she said.
Her comments have generated discussions on social media, with some Nigerians arguing that entertainers often take advantage of different opportunities to make money.
Others maintained that celebrities who publicly endorse political candidates should expect scrutiny because of the influence they have over their audiences.
