Joe Biden’s Cancer Has Spread Further Into His Body, Son Hunter Reveals

Former United States President Joe Biden’s prostate cancer has spread further into his body and metastasised to his bones, according to his son, Hunter Biden.

Hunter disclosed the latest update on his father’s health during an interview with the BBC on Friday, describing the impact of the disease as “very painful” and debilitating.

Despite his health challenges, Hunter said the former president remains engaged with political and public affairs.

“It’s very debilitating in many respects. But he’s still out there. He’s still doing his thing. He so believes in this country.”

Biden’s office first announced in May 2025 that the former president had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer following a medical examination.

At the time, his office disclosed that the cancer had already spread to his bones.

Biden subsequently underwent treatment, completing a course of radiation therapy in October. He also underwent a separate procedure to remove skin cancer cells from his forehead.

His family and office have provided relatively limited updates about his condition since the treatments.

Former First Lady Jill Biden said during an NBC Today interview in June that her husband was expected to live with cancer for the remainder of his life.

Hunter’s latest comments provide a further indication of the physical impact the illness is having on the former president.

Biden was 82 when he left the White House and was the oldest person to serve as president of the United States.

His health became a major political issue during the 2024 presidential campaign, particularly following concerns about his age and ability to serve another four-year term.

Biden eventually withdrew from the 2024 presidential race amid growing pressure from within the Democratic Party.

His aides subsequently faced criticism and allegations that they had not been sufficiently transparent about his health and physical condition while he was in office.

Biden has remained publicly engaged since leaving the presidency, despite undergoing cancer treatment.

The former president is also preparing to release a memoir, which is scheduled for publication on November 17.
