Nollywood Veteran Ogogo Battles Stage 4 Cancer as Daughters Seek Treatment Options

Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, is reportedly battling stage 4 cancer, with his daughters appealing publicly for help in finding further treatment options.

Ogogo’s daughters, Kira and Lima, also known as Haleemah Taiwo, made the appeal on Monday, August 17, 2026, in emotional videos shared on Instagram.

According to the daughters, the hospital currently treating their father has stopped further chemotherapy because of the advanced stage of his condition.

One of them said the actor has been experiencing severe pain and other health complications, including a swollen stomach.

“Hello everyone. I’m here for my daddy. He has cancer, and it’s stage 4. The hospital is saying that they cannot treat him again, like they can’t give him chemo again,” she said.

The family clarified that they were not seeking financial donations. Instead, they appealed to medical professionals, cancer specialists and members of the public who may know reputable hospitals or alternative treatment options capable of taking on his case.

The daughters also acknowledged the assistance of Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, who they said has been helping with their father’s medical expenses.

Ogogo, 66, is one of the established figures in the Yoruba film industry, having built a career spanning more than four decades as an actor and producer.

His reported health condition has since triggered concern among fans, colleagues and members of the Nigerian entertainment industry, with many expressing support and offering prayers for his recovery.
