Nigerian singers Seyi Vibez, Shallipopi and T.I Blaze have publicly raised allegations against their former label boss, Dapper, over royalties, contracts and the handling of artistes’ earnings.
The separate allegations by the three artistes have sparked a fresh controversy within the Nigerian music industry, with questions being raised about financial transparency and the management of music catalogues.
T.I Blaze was among the first to publicly question Dapper’s handling of artistes’ earnings. The singer, who parted ways with Dapper Entertainment earlier in 2026, raised concerns about royalty payments, financial transparency and how money generated from artistes’ music was tracked and distributed.
Shallipopi later joined the dispute with a series of allegations against the music executive.
The singer claimed Dapper was withholding royalty income from 46 of his songs, including revenue from his hit song E Don Cast.
Shallipopi also alleged that Dapper transferred the catalogues of several artistes to Virgin Music Group, collected money from the arrangement and failed to properly account for the proceeds.
“Dapper nor forget na my laho money Dey with me o, u Dey hold me 46 songs royalty income including my ‘E don cast’ money and nor forget too you carry all of us catalog go give virgin u come collect block money, you come pocket am,” he wrote.
The singer made another serious allegation concerning his contractual relationship with Dapper.
Shallipopi claimed that he signed a management agreement with Dapper in 2023 but alleged that his signature was subsequently forged and placed on a 10-year distribution agreement.
“In 2023 I signed to dapper management only, he forge my signature and put it on a 10 years distribution contract even when I already use distrokid,” he alleged.
He further claimed that Dapper later entered an agreement with Virgin Music Group and received money from the deal without giving him what he was allegedly entitled to.
Shallipopi also referenced an alleged EFCC matter involving Dapper and called for greater attention from the government, media and relevant authorities.
Seyi Vibez has also entered the dispute, making several claims about his former relationship with Dapper.
The singer alleged that money belonging to him was used to finance the signing of other artistes under Dapper’s management.
“Am bigger than the whole dapper and his entire generation,” Seyi Vibez wrote.
He also claimed, “And my money was the money being used to sign all the artiste he signed since Chance Naham!”
Seyi Vibez further alleged that Dapper’s success was partly built from his financial contributions and made additional claims about alleged spiritual manipulation.
“Thank GOD say na me first Japa. The rest na mumu,” he added.
The allegations from the three artistes have intensified the controversy surrounding Dapper and his former artistes, particularly over questions about royalties, contractual arrangements and music catalogue ownership.
Dapper has since denied wrongdoing in broad terms, saying that relevant records are with the authorities and that the appropriate process should establish the truth. The allegations made by the artistes remain claims and have not been established by a court.
