APC governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji has defeated incumbent Governor and Accord Party candidate Ademola Adeleke at Ward 6, Polling Unit 006, in Boluwaduro Local Government Area of Osun State.
According to a result sheet shared on X by Akinsola Akin after voting and counting ended at the polling unit, Oyebamiji secured 68 votes, while Adeleke recorded 39 votes.
The result gives Oyebamiji a 29-vote lead over the incumbent at the polling unit.
Voting in the Osun governorship election began across the state on Saturday, with some polling units completing voting and counting by about 2:30 p.m.
Adeleke, Oyebamiji and 13 other candidates are contesting the election, with 2,339,233 registered voters listed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Earlier in the day, Adeleke expressed dissatisfaction with aspects of the election process, including reported delays and alleged malfunctioning of Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS, machines at some polling units.
Davido, a nephew of the incumbent governor, also raised concerns over the delay in uploading results to INEC’s IReV portal, saying results had not been uploaded as of 2:33 p.m.
The result from Boluwaduro is one of the early polling-unit results emerging as counting continues across Osun State.
