Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election following his re-election as governor.
Adeleke made the declaration while speaking at a press briefing after winning the Osun governorship election.
The governor thanked Tinubu for what he described as his support for a free and fair electoral process, while also describing the President as a son of Osun State.
“I must deeply appreciate Mr. President, His Excellency, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his strong support for a free and fair election. Mr. President is a son of Osun State. I hereby reaffirm my earlier endorsement of him for a second term in the 2027 presidential election,” Adeleke said.
Adeleke was declared winner of the Osun governorship election after defeating his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
According to the final results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Adeleke polled 511,067 votes, while Oyebamiji secured 444,815 votes.
The result gives Adeleke another term as governor of Osun State and places his renewed endorsement of Tinubu at the centre of political discussions ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
