New Galatasaray signing Rafael Leao has revealed that he shares a close friendship with Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen after completing his move from AC Milan.
The Portugal international joined Galatasaray on Saturday and received a warm welcome from supporters following his arrival in Istanbul.
Speaking after completing the transfer, Leao said his relationship with Osimhen could help the Turkish champions achieve their targets this season.
“Osimhen is a good friend of mine, and we will do great things together,” Leao said.
The 27-year-old forward also outlined his ambitions with Galatasaray, saying the club wants to remain competitive in the UEFA Champions League while defending its domestic title.
“We want to continue competing in the Champions League and also win the league title. I’m really happy to be here.”
Leao’s arrival adds another major attacking option to a Galatasaray squad that already features Osimhen, who has become a key figure for the Turkish club.
The Portugal international is expected to make his Galatasaray debut against Istanbul Başakşehir next weekend.
His partnership with Osimhen will be closely watched, with both forwards bringing pace, power and attacking quality to Galatasaray’s frontline.
