Mr Macaroni Breaks Down in Tears, Thanks Don Jazzy, Osimhen and Others for Support

Nigerian actor and content creator Debo Adebayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has opened up about a difficult period in his life, expressing gratitude to people who supported him when he needed help.

Mr Macaroni, in a post on X on Saturday, said he was moved to tears after reading messages from people who recalled different ways he had helped them over the years.

According to the actor, several of the acts of kindness mentioned by his supporters were things he had done without expecting anything in return and, in some cases, could no longer remember.

He said the messages made him reflect on his own struggles and realise that he had been focusing too much on what he had lost instead of being grateful for overcoming one of the most difficult periods of his life.

“I think this is God’s way of telling me to also be thankful!!! I have been thinking too much about what I lost instead of thanking God for seeing me through one of the hardest moments of my life.”

Mr Macaroni said he had become accustomed to helping others while finding it difficult to ask for assistance when he needed it.

“I am used to always giving and hardly ever receiving because everyone thought I had in abundance. I have also always found it difficult to ask for help.”

The actor revealed that an unnamed individual repeatedly assisted him in settling his debts during the difficult period.

He described the intervention as extraordinary and said he believed the support was made possible by divine intervention.

“God used one person to settle all that I owed! And this help came over and over again! I don’t think any sane person would do what he did for me without God’s intervention!”

Mr Macaroni also thanked his close friends and supporters, whom he collectively referred to as “Mr Macaroni & Friends,” for standing by him when he was going through the difficult period.

“To my closest people in the World (Mr Macaroni & Friends) Thank you for not neglecting me even when you had every reason to. Thank you for saving me.”

He singled out music executive Don Jazzy for special appreciation, saying the Mavin Records boss had supported him financially since his university days and continued to assist him.

“To Don Jazzy, who has been giving me since my university days up till now, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do, not just for me but for so many others!!!”

Mr Macaroni also acknowledged the support he received from Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen and Pastor Bolaji, thanking them for their roles during his difficult period.

The content creator said he was now “in a better place” and had begun focusing on learning, personal growth and activities that bring him happiness.

He added that despite the challenges he had faced, he did not regret the ways he had helped other people.

“I don’t and will never regret anything I have ever done in my life to make the lives of others better in even the smallest way possible.”

According to him, the experience also taught him lessons and gave him greater clarity about life.

He ended his message with a call for kindness and compassion.

“May the love in our hearts be forever greater than the hate in the world.”

His post prompted several followers to share their own experiences of receiving support from him.

One follower recalled that Mr Macaroni had supported videographers during his early content creation years, while another remembered receiving $200 from the actor during a previous encounter.

The latest accounts also come shortly after veteran actor Peter Fatomilola publicly praised Mr Macaroni’s generosity.

Fatomilola previously recalled that Mr Macaroni gave him ₦1 million after they worked together on a film. He also said the content creator gave him ₦200,000 for fuel and extended financial assistance to his son and grandchild.

The accounts have added to the growing public discussion about Mr Macaroni’s charitable gestures and support for people within and outside the entertainment industry.
