The wife of Delta-based content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba, has apologised to women who were offended by her decision to publicly defend her husband amid allegations of rape.
In a new video, the mother of four reflected on the earlier statement she made in support of her husband, admitting that fear and her financial dependence on him influenced her decision to speak publicly.
However, while apologising for appearing publicly and involving her children in the controversy, she maintained that she believes her husband is innocent of the allegations and intends to continue fighting for her marriage.
‘I shouldn’t have done that’
Odogwu Asaba’s wife said she initially believed that publicly supporting her husband was the right thing to do but later realised that her actions had offended some women.
“I want to use this opportunity to apologise to all the women who feel offended because I stood by my husband, Odogwu Asaba. I shouldn’t have done that. I shouldn’t have shown my face and that of my children,” she said.

‘I was scared’
Explaining her earlier decision, the woman said she had depended financially on her husband throughout their eight-year marriage.
She said she had been a full-time housewife without her own income, business or professional skills, while her husband provided for her, their four children and her parents.
According to her, the possibility of being rejected by her husband during the controversy frightened her and influenced her decision to publicly stand beside him.
“I was scared. I was scared if he comes out, he’s going to reject me,” she said.
She also acknowledged that her financial dependence made the situation more difficult for her.
‘I believe him 100%’
Despite apologising for her public response, Odogwu Asaba’s wife said her position regarding the allegation against her husband had not changed.
She claimed that her husband admitted to being involved with the 20-year-old woman, Favour Agbro, but denied forcing himself on her.
She said she had never witnessed such behaviour from her husband during their years together and maintained that she believed his account of what happened.
“I believe him 100%. Even if I can’t defend it. Even if I can’t prove it. I believe him,” she stated.
Her comments reflect her personal position on the allegation, while the matter remains subject to investigation and the appropriate legal process.
‘I am going to fight for the man that made me a mother’
The woman also responded to people who have urged her to leave the marriage following the controversy.
She said she would not make such a decision simply because of pressure from people online, stressing that Odogwu Asaba remains her husband and the father of her children.
“I am going to fight for the man that made me a mother,” she said.
She added that she intended to continue fighting for her marriage despite the criticism surrounding her decision to support her husband.
Odogwu Asaba was arrested after the family of Favour Agbro petitioned the Delta State Police Command over the allegation.
Authorities have confirmed that an investigation is ongoing, with the matter expected to proceed through the appropriate legal channels.
The allegations against Odogwu Asaba have not been established by a court, and the parties involved are entitled to due process as the investigation continues.
