The White House has launched a 24-hour digital streaming service dedicated to President Donald Trump and his administration, providing viewers with presidential speeches, official announcements, live events and selected footage from the administration.
Called “TRUMP TV: The Essentials Station,” the service went live on Monday, September 21, through the White House’s digital platforms and YouTube. The White House confirmed the launch in its official video library.
The White House described the service as a continuously updated stream featuring recent developments alongside selected footage from previous presidential events.
A post announcing the launch said the channel would operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with new content added as major events and presidential remarks take place.
The White House’s website now includes a dedicated Trump TV feed alongside its existing White House Live service.
The initial programming includes footage from Trump’s public appearances, presidential remarks, administration announcements and other material already produced by the White House. The administration’s online video library also lists Trump TV and other presidential footage.
The launch comes amid an escalating dispute between the Trump administration and several major US news organisations over access to the White House.
On September 18, Trump announced that CNN, MS NOW and Politico would be barred from the White House, accusing the outlets of publishing what he described as false reports.
The three organisations subsequently filed a federal lawsuit challenging the restrictions and arguing that the decision violated their First Amendment rights. Reuters reported that they are seeking a temporary restraining order against the administration.
The White House enforced the ban on September 19, when journalists from the three organisations were denied access to the complex and their press credentials were confiscated or deactivated.
The dispute also disrupted the traditional White House television press pool. CNN had been scheduled to serve as the television pool network for Monday, but was removed from the assignment following the ban. Other major television networks subsequently suspended the shared pool arrangement.
The launch of Trump TV therefore gives the White House a direct distribution channel for presidential and administration-produced material as the dispute over traditional media access moves through the courts.
The White House has separately published a statement titled “White House Access Is a Privilege, Not a Right,”defending its position on media access.
The lawsuit by CNN, MS NOW and Politico is scheduled for an early court hearing, with the outlets seeking temporary relief while the broader legal dispute over the White House’s decision continues.
