Damilare Aladegbola, popularly known as Dre and an aide to Afrobeats star Davido, has appealed to whoever allegedly took his phone at rapper Zlatan Ibile’s wedding to return it, promising a financial reward.
Dre made the appeal in a post on his Instagram page on Monday, saying he was willing to give money to the person responsible if the phone was returned.
“If na u carry my phone for Zlatan wedding, abeg return am, I go give you money please,” he wrote in Pidgin English.
The Davido aide also expressed frustration over what he suggested was a recurring problem at social gatherings, alleging that phones could be taken from tables while guests were distracted.
He warned that the experience would make him more suspicious of waiters who approached him to ask whether he had finished eating so they could clear his plate.
“From now on, if I go any party or dey any party and any stupid waitress tell me say are you done eating so I can pack your plate, na swear I go swear for you cause na pattern. Wey una dey use pack phone for table be that now,” he added.
Dre did not provide further details about when he last saw the phone or identify anyone responsible for its disappearance. His post did not establish who took it or whether the phone had been recovered.
The incident reportedly occurred during the wedding celebrations of Zlatan Ibile and his longtime partner, Davita Lamai, which attracted several prominent figures from Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
Zlatan had announced the wedding on Instagram ahead of the traditional ceremony, sharing photographs of the couple with the caption, “IT’s TIME TO MARRY.”
Davido was among the celebrities present at the event and reportedly led the groomsmen, while other entertainers and well-wishers gathered to celebrate the couple.
Dre’s appeal has drawn attention to the alleged loss of his phone during the festivities, with the aide asking for its return rather than publicly identifying a suspect.
