A mini-truck driver in Ado-Ekiti, Adeleye Adeniyi, has disclosed that he borrowed N3.5 million to support the re-election bids of President Bola Tinubu, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and Ekiti State House of Assembly member Steve Fatoba.
Adeniyi, popularly known as “Online Loan Man for BAO,” made the disclosure in an interview with journalists circulating on Friday, during which he displayed a cardboard cheque bearing the amounts he pledged to the three politicians.
The cheque indicated N2 million for Tinubu, N1 million for Bamidele and N500,000 for Fatoba, bringing the total to N3.5 million.
The driver said his decision was motivated by what he considered the politicians’ performance in office, adding that he was prepared to campaign for them ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Speaking about his support for Tinubu, Adeniyi said he had taken a loan to demonstrate his commitment to the President’s second-term ambition.
“I am supporting Mr President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his second-term ambition. I have borrowed money. I want to use this money to support him because he’s doing a very great job,” he said.
Adeniyi also pledged to campaign for the President and use a song to promote his re-election bid.
“Like I said again, I am fully ready to go out to campaign for him. And I’m going to use this song to back him up. On your mandate, we shall stand,” he added.
He urged Nigerians to vote for Tinubu for another term, saying he believed the President would deliver further benefits if re-elected.
“I will appeal to my fellow Nigerians that we should demonstrate love by giving him, by voting him for his second term in office, because we are still going to see much more, more than what we have received,” Adeniyi said.
The driver also expressed support for Bamidele, praising what he described as the Senate leader’s contributions to development projects and leadership in Ekiti State.
“Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, this man, I pray that we are still going to higher places. Most times, I look at the kind of projects that you always put on, you always supported. It always encouraged me that, no, indeed, this is a good leader,” he said.
Adeniyi similarly pledged support for Fatoba, although the interview details provided did not specify particular projects he attributed to the lawmaker.
He also praised Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, citing what he described as the administration’s contributions to healthcare, education, electricity and rural infrastructure.
Adeniyi had previously attracted attention in February 2026 after reports that he borrowed money through the digital lending platform OPay to brand a vehicle in support of Oyebanji’s re-election bid.
The driver, who operates around the BAO Timber Market along Ilawe Road in Ado-Ekiti, said his earlier decision was driven by his admiration for the governor’s administration.
He had also commended Oyebanji and Tinubu over their policies on education, healthcare and citizens’ welfare, urging residents to support the governor’s second-term ambition.
In his latest appearance, Adeniyi said he had taken another loan to demonstrate his support for Tinubu, Bamidele and Fatoba.

The amounts displayed on the cardboard cheque represent his stated pledges. The available account does not independently establish whether the money has been transferred to the politicians or their campaign organisations.
