A train has collided with a Honda car at the PWD railway crossing along Agege Motor Road in Ikeja, Lagos State, disrupting vehicular movement in the area on Friday morning.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) disclosed the incident in a post on X on October 9, saying the collision had affected traffic around the railway crossing.
Footage from the scene showed the Honda car badly damaged, with several onlookers gathered around the vehicle as they attempted to push it away from the railway tracks.
According to LASTMA, the car had been moved off the tracks while efforts were underway to evacuate it from the scene.
“A collision involving a train and a Honda car was reported on the rail tracks at PWD, seriously affecting vehicular movement at the moment,” the agency stated.
LASTMA added that its officers were at the location managing traffic and helping to ease congestion caused by the incident.
The agency also said emergency responders were present and attending to the situation.
It was not immediately clear how the collision occurred, and LASTMA did not disclose whether anyone was injured or killed in the incident.
Motorists travelling along Agege Motor Road around the PWD railway crossing were advised to exercise caution as traffic officials worked to manage the situation and facilitate the evacuation of the damaged vehicle.
