The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the death of its Ogun State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, who reportedly died on Saturday after a brief illness.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Chief Route Commander Afolabi Odunsi.
The Ogun State Sector Command described Ogunjobi’s death as a significant loss to the corps, his colleagues and the wider road safety community, highlighting his contributions to traffic management and road safety administration.
“He will be remembered for his service, leadership, commitment to road safety administration and dedication to the mandate of the Federal Road Safety Corps,” the statement said.
According to the command, Ogunjobi worked to promote safer roads, improve public awareness of road safety, strengthen engagement with stakeholders and encourage compliance with traffic regulations during his tenure.
His responsibilities as Sector Commander included supporting the FRSC’s efforts to improve road-user behaviour and advance its mandate of reducing road traffic crashes and their consequences.
The command extended its condolences to his family, friends, loved ones and colleagues, while praying that they would find the strength to cope with the loss.
It added that details of his funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
Until his death, Ogunjobi headed the FRSC’s RS2.2 Ogun State Sector Command, where he served as the corps’ senior officer responsible for coordinating road safety operations across the state.
