Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has undergone successful surgery following an injury she sustained while representing Nigeria in the 2028 Olympic Games qualifiers.
The 26-year-old forward was injured during the second leg of Nigeria’s second-round qualifying fixture against Comoros on Tuesday, raising concerns about her availability for upcoming matches.
Ajibade confirmed that she had successfully undergone surgery in a post on her Instagram page, where she also expressed appreciation to fans and supporters for their prayers, encouragement and goodwill messages.
“Surgery done. Recovery mode on. Thank you all for the love and prayers. Back soon for His greater glory,” the Atletico Madrid forward wrote.
The Super Falcons captain is now expected to focus on her recovery before returning to action. However, the length of her absence remains unknown, as no official recovery timeline has been announced.
