Footage allegedly showing a mysterious animal in Ciudad Juárez, northern Mexico, has sparked widespread speculation about the creature’s identity, with some residents linking it to the legendary Chupacabra. However, local authorities say they have received no reports confirming the animal’s existence.
According to reports by The Sun, the recordings show a seemingly hairless creature with a rounded head, unusually long limbs and a tail. The figure reportedly moves on four legs and appears to climb a wall, prompting questions about whether it is an unidentified animal or a known species captured under unusual circumstances.
The creature has also been linked to alleged attacks on chickens, roosters and rabbits in the Chihuahua city. However, these claims remain unverified, and no independently confirmed evidence has established a connection between the footage and the reported loss of livestock.
Paranormal investigator Jaime Maussan said he had reviewed the recordings and was gathering accounts from residents to establish what might be behind the reports. Speaking to local media, he described the figure as a potential predator but stopped short of claiming that it was extraterrestrial.
Maussan’s team also presented photographs reportedly captured by trail cameras, claiming that experts had been unable to identify the animal. However, no confirmed scientific assessment has been provided to establish the identity of the creature or determine whether the images show an unknown species.
The investigator further claimed that some residents had left their homes because of fears surrounding the alleged animal. He also indicated plans to install cameras and traps to obtain additional footage and evidence that could help explain the sightings.
Online discussions have drawn comparisons between the mysterious figure and the Chupacabra, a creature in Latin American folklore popularly associated with attacks on livestock. Stories about the legendary animal have circulated for decades, although its existence has never been scientifically established.
Other explanations suggest that the figure could be an ordinary animal whose appearance has been distorted by poor lighting, camera angles or image quality. Without clear footage, biological samples or other verifiable evidence, these possibilities remain unresolved.
Meanwhile, Sergio Rodríguez, director of civil protection in Ciudad Juárez, said his department had received no reports confirming the existence of the alleged creature.
The mystery therefore remains unsolved, with the authenticity of the recordings, the identity of the figure and claims of livestock attacks yet to be independently verified. Until further evidence emerges, the alleged sightings remain unconfirmed.
